SLCP Vacancy: Part Time Finance & Admin Coordinator with 3 years of experience

Position Description

This is an exciting new junior role to provide accountancy assistance for financial administration.

A junior position at SLCP will provide the opportunity to gain experience in a busy start-up environment and develop an understanding of the sustainability sector. As a small team working toward an ambitious Five-Year Strategic Plan, SLCP staff need to meet the following profile: open-minded; willing, and able to deliver at pace; to juggle a variety of tasks; and a team player with the flexibility to shift priorities to meet the needs of the day.

This position will have significant administrative/operational elements, requiring process-orientation and attention to detail. However, next to that, this position includes growth opportunities in the area of Finance, to hone your accounting skills and carve out autonomy in your role. This role is offered on a part-time basis – 2/3 days per week. This position is available from 1st January 2024, but would ideally start in December 2023.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handling day-to-day work, checks and balances on invoicing via Exact Online

  • Preparing and sending invoices

o   Making payments on invoices received

o   Follow up on outstanding invoices

o   Resolve invoice queries from service providers

  • Resolve payment issues

  • Review and process expenses via SRXP

o   Manage expense processing and approvals

o   Assist SLCP team in understanding expense policy and respond to queries as required

Details and skills required

  • Three plus years of experience in Accounting;

  • Knowledge of common bookkeeping;

  • Good math skills;

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint in particular), three plus years of experience;

  • Confident self-starter with the ability to take initiative and get things done;

  • Keen attention to detail with the patience and rigor to carry out tasks accurately and to a high quality;

  • Process-orientation, pro-activeness and ‘continuous improvement’ mentality: developing systemic solutions for day-to-day challenges;

  • Flexible nature; willing to support team-mates and to prioritize wider needs of the team;

  • Ability to communicate and work with key stakeholders – internal SLCP team, Verifying Bodies, Accredited Hosts, Signatories, and vendors.

  • Fluent written and spoken English (C1 level or higher) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR);

  • Dutch language skills are preferred;

  • Familiarity with Exact Online and SRXP systems is desirable.

Qualifications

  • MBO finance/administration equivalent.

  • Relevant degree/certificates that cover finance/bookkeeping. (Preferred)

Employment, organization set-up, and location

  • Part-time position with a competitive salary/compensation within a non-profit context. Initially, 1-year contract with the intention to prolong;

  • 2 to 3 days a week, in consultation;

  • Some requirements for flexible working to accommodate engagement with stakeholders and colleagues in different time zones;

  • SLCP is registered as a non-profit foundation (‘Stichting’) in The Netherlands and is governed by a multi-stakeholder board.
